2015 Volkswagen Touareg review

1. Potent engines 

The 2015 Touareg has several powertrain options to please your performance-craving side. Its standard 3.6L V6 engine pumps out 280 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque, giving it plenty of power. However, the true power comes from an unexpected source: the Touareg’s hybrid powertrain. This hybrid setup pairs a supercharged 3.0L V6 with an electric motor to deliver 380 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque. It’s not quite sports-car fast, but you’ll appreciate how the Touareg Hybrid moves with its 5.8-second sprint to 60 mph. 

2. Great diesel option 

The 2015 Volkswagen Toureg has another engine option slotted between the 3.6L V6 and hybrid. This 3.0L turbodiesel V6 engine delivers 240 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque and pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. This adds up to a 7.2-second zero-to-60 sprint time. This diesel model will continue to impress you with its EPA-estimated 20 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined.

 

3. Surprisingly nimble 

The 2015 Volkswagen Touareg is not a small crossover, so it will surprise you how well it handles the corners. The Touareg is no performance SUV, but despite its larger footprint, it never feels unwieldy in the corners. Plus, it’s incredibly responsive steering ensures it always goes right where you point it. This is one relatively mainstream SUV you’ll quickly fall in love with.

Though the 2015 Volkswagen Touareg handles very well, it doesn’t sacrifice its composed ride.
