Convenience and confidence combined

The 2019 Volvo V60 was fully redesigned for this model year, leaving it larger and with more cargo space than previous versions. It’s great if you're looking to carry stuff without driving a larger SUV. The 2019 Volvo V60 delivers sedan-like driving with loads of extra trunk room. It drives like a smaller car, and you may forget about the wagon body trailing behind as you enjoy the responsive handling. For 2019, the Volvo V60 with seating for five comes in Momentum, R-Design, and Inscription trim levels. As expected with a Volvo, it has a long list of standard and available driver assistance technology.

5 reasons to buy the 2019 Volvo V60

1. Why a wagon?

The 2019 Volvo V60 was stretched almost five inches during the upgrade, and the rear overhang after the back wheels is 4.9 inches longer. That means more cargo space than the previous model year, making the 2019 Volvo V60 the storage champ. The 2019 Volvo V60 ended up with 23 cu-ft behind the upright second row of seats, compared to 20 cu-ft in previous years. With the rear seats folded, there’s 51 cu-ft of cargo space, compared to just under 44 cu-ft in previous years. It’s a real alternative to compact SUVs. Plus, the low lift-over height makes loading stuff into the back easier.

 2. Driver assistance aids

The 2019 Volvo V60 has an array of standard and available driver-aid technology that works behind the scenes to help you manage traffic and emergency situations. Standard features include a system designed to keep the V60 from going off the road, plus a forward-collision warning system and collision-avoidance technology that works at speed differentials of up to 37 mph. The available Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) warns the driver if another vehicle is not visible at the side of the car, and a cross-traffic alert lets you know if something is approaching as you back out.

 3. Gadgets galore

Technology in the 2019 Volvo V60 centers on the tall and narrow tablet-style touchscreen. From there, you can access navigation maps, the sound system and climate controls. Bluetooth® connectivity links phone calls and music. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto are standard. Using standard voice commands for climate control, audio, and navigation may be easier than scrolling through the touchscreen menu. There are two USB ports in the armrest, a 12-volt plug in the front, and a 12-volt outlet in the rear.

4. Many choices

The 2019 Volvo V60 is offered in Momentum, R-Design, and Inscription trim levels. All share a variant of the turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder. The base T5 version outputs 250 hp, while the T6 engine, optional on the Momentum and R-Design models and standard on the Inscription, outputs 316 hp. Models with the T5 are front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available on the Momentum and R-Design with the T6 engine and standard on the Inscription with the T6. You can choose from four drive modes: Comfort, Dynamic, Eco, and Individual. These settings fine-tune the V60 accordingly for more comfort, sporty driving, or increased fuel economy, helping the AWD version achieve an EPA-estimated 25 mpg combined or 22 mpg/city and 31 mpg/highway.

5. Features and options

The 2019 Volvo V60 boasts some attractive standard features like the panoramic sunroof and power rear tailgate. But wait, there’s more. The available Multimedia Package adds a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, navigation system, and a 13-speaker Harman Kardon® sound system that fills the cabin with splendid sounds. If you’re looking for a sportier ride, the available Four-C suspension package has four electronically controlled shock absorbers that continuously and instantaneously adjust to driving conditions.
