The Ford EcoSport's introduction in 2018 brought with it an improved SYNC® infotainment system, which was upgraded again for 2020. The base S trim has a 4.2-inch user-friendly touchscreen, while an eight-inch version is standard on the SE trim. As standard, you'll get a six-speaker sound system but Titanium models and up get a premium B&O® sound system with ten speakers.

2. Lots of options

The 2020 Ford EcoSport comes with four trims: S, SE, SES, and Titanium. The base model already has a decent number of features—such as a 4.2-inch touchscreen display and six-speaker stereo—while the SE adds a moonroof and push-button start. The SES takes the luxury even further with a heated steering wheel and rain-sensing windshield wipers, while the Titanium adds genuine leather upholstery and a 10-speaker sound system.

3. Two great engine choices

There are two engine options for the 2020 Ford EcoSport: a thrifty 1.0L three-cylinder turbocharged engine and a 2.0L four-cylinder engine. The S, SE, and Titanium FWD trims come with the 1.0L engine as standard, while all AWD models come with the 2.0L engine. Both engines are paired to a six-speed. The 1.0L engine achieves 123 hp and the 2.0L engine achieves 166 hp.

4. Lots of space

Year comparison

2018–present Ford EcoSport (Third Generation)

The first generation of the Ford EcoSport was sold only in Brazil, while the second was gradually introduced to multiple other countries. Finally, the third generation received an intense facelift and came to the United States in 2018.

A new fascia and grille inspired by Ford's stable of sedans is one of the more noticeable changes, with angular headlights and an overall slightly more aggressive look. Inside, the EcoSport has been modernized with a new entertainment system and steering wheel buttons. Additionally, Ford added a TFT display between the speedometer and tachometer. Under the hood, the base 1.0L engine was introduced.
