2019 Ford F-350 can serve as ultimate work truck and ultimate luxury truck

Ford's 2019 F-350 Super Duty meets a wide range of heavy-duty truck needs with its wide range of configurations. The available body styles are regular cab, extended cab, and crew cab, while drivetrain choices are either a 6.2-liter gasoline V8 or a 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 mated to a six-speed automatic. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with four-wheel drive available and an FX4 off-road package offered for serious off-road activity. A new Sport package for the Lariat trim, with 20-inch wheels, a spray-in bedliner, and black exterior accents, debuts for 2019. The XL, XLT, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited round out the trim offerings. High-tech features like a 360-degree camera can help maneuver the F-350 in tight spaces, while a remote camera allows drivers to see "through" a trailer. Storable profiles to easily recall specific trailer dimensions, tire-pressure monitoring, and brake settings aid F-350 operators with multiple trailers. The 2019 Ford F-350 can accomplish serious work, but it can also deliver a sense of luxury with premium features like leather upholstery, heated and ventilated seats, and adaptive cruise control.

5 reasons to buy the 2019 Ford F350

What We Like

Capability: Towing and hauling are the primary duties of a heavy-duty truck, and the Ford F-350 Super Duty accomplishes either task with ease. Rated at up to 7,640 pounds of payload capacity, and more than 20,000 pounds of towing capacity,

the F-350 can handle big demands while making the driver's life easier with features like a spray-in bedliner and trailer tire pressure monitoring.

Interior: With a roomy interior and a host of standard and available convenience features, the F-350 can be outfitted for everything from construction work sites to long-distance family road trips. The upscale trims, including the King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited, include everything from plush leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and heated/ventilated seats to Ford's advanced SYNC® 3 infotainment system as standard equipment.

Efficiency: Its combination of lightweight aluminum body panels and an available diesel engine allows the F-350 to deliver about as good of fuel mileage as a heavy-duty truck can deliver. Mileage can, and will, vary, depending on the payload or tow weight of what's being hauled, but heavy-duty truck buyers looking to cut fuel costs can't do much better than a diesel-powered F-350.

What Needs Improvement

Maneuverability: Heavy-duty truck buyers know what they're getting into when buying one of these large vehicles, but that doesn't change the reality of trying to maneuver these beasts on city streets or in tight confines. Thankfully, available features like the surround-view camera and Ford's Pro Trailer Backup Assist go a long way to mitigating these challenges.
