Ford's 2022 F-350 Super Duty reflects the automaker's understanding of the heavy-duty market. Competing in this highly profitable segment requires more than high payload and towing capacities, which the F-350 offers, but it also provides a wide range of body styles, drivetrains, and trim levels to suit nearly any purpose. Available as a regular cab, extended cab, or crew cab, the F-350 comes standard with a 6.2-liter V8 and a 10-speed automatic transmission. A 7.3-liter V8 or a 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 are also available. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with four-wheel drive available. Cab configurations range from regular cab to extended cab to crew cab, and the trim levels are XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited. New this year is an available 12-inch touchscreen and standard four-wheel drive for King Ranch and Platinum trims.
With over 7,000 pounds of payload capacity and well over 20,000 pounds of towing capacity, the Ford F-350 is capable of serious work. Various factors may impact towing capacity, including weight of passengers, cargo, and options/accessories. It can also deliver a luxurious driving experience for buyers who can afford it.
Capability: The F-350 can handle up to 7,850 pounds of payload capacity and well over 20,000 pounds of towing capacity,
Interior: Ford has improved the F-350's technology pedigree with a new 12-inch touchscreen. The larger screen, along with Ford's intuitive SYNC® 3 interface, makes accessing the truck's array of features easier. Buyers looking for luxury will find plenty in the F-350's premium trim levels, which include the King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited.
Efficiency: Pairing a diesel V8 with a 10-speed automatic improves both performance and efficiency for the F-350 Super Duty. The truck's lightweight aluminum body panels add yet another high-tech solution that helps save gas, illustrating Ford's commitment to reducing fuel consumption and owner operating costs even in its heavy-duty line of trucks.
Maneuverability: Buying a heavy-duty truck means navigating a heavy-duty truck, which can get dicey when driving in a tight urban environment. Ford offers some high-tech features to compensate, including a surround-view camera and the Pro Trailer Backup Assist package. This combination, plus available blind-spot warning, makes urban driving and trailer hookups much easier.
