Earlier versions of the Ford F-350 may have remained unchanged for several years, but in 2017, Ford gave the F-350 a full refresh. The redesign offered a new optional turbodiesel engine option with 440 horsepower with 925 lb-ft of torque. The 2017 Ford F-350 also introduced new standard bells and whistles, including a heated steering wheel, smart key, rear seat heaters, blind spot monitor, Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® integration, and Bluetooth® connectivity. In addition, other options were available for the first time, such as automated cruise control, lane departure warning, and panoramic sunroof features.
1. Tough exterior
It’s easy to feel like the king of the road when you’re driving a 2017 Ford F-350. Its bold exterior resembles an 18-wheeler semi-truck, as its flanks are decorated with simulated fender vents and vertical lights frame the tailgate. The truck also features mesh grille details, cab clearance lights, and large spoked wheels. All these features add a panache without losing the gritty toughness of a hardworking full-size truck.
The 2017 F-350 may work harder and tow larger loads than most other trucks on the road, but you can still enjoy the ride. The front seats offer several power adjustors to get the exact posture you want, along with a massage feature on some trim levels. Seat heating and cooling are also available. If you’re carrying passengers, the back seat provides 43.6 inches of leg space for rear passengers to sit in comfort, while enjoying rear heating and air conditioning vents.
If you’re looking for a truck that can pull a heavy load, whether it’s a full trailer, camper, or boat, the 2017 Ford F-350 won’t disappoint. The Super Duty model's estimated maximum towing capacity is 18,000 pounds with the single rear wheels and diesel engine when properly equipped.
There’s no need to feel crowded in the cabin of the 2017 F-350, as there are plenty of storage spaces to stow your items and maintain plenty of space for riding comfortably. The center console provides a large bin, covered tray, and four giant cup holders for the front seat and two for the back seat. There are trays in the dashboard, bins in the door panels, and rear seat cushions flip up to reveal locked and covered storage.
The 2017 Ford F-350 comes with a choice of two solid engine options. It may include a 6.7L Power Stroke turbodiesel V8, which produces 925 lb-ft of torque, or a 6.2L V8 with 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. With either option, the truck is one powerful piece of machinery.
