With a giant infotainment screen, acres of leather, high-tech features, and a quiet and insulated cabin, the Sierra 1500 is equally at home heading downtown for date night as it is towing a cattle trailer or hauling mulch. 5 reasons to buy the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500

1. Beefy engines

The Sierra 1500 has four available engine options, paired with either a six-speed or eight-speed automatic, and rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The base engine is a turbocharged 2.7L four-cylinder making a healthy 310 horsepower. A turbodiesel 3.0L inline-six cylinder makes 277 hp but gives you 460 lb-ft at just 1,500 rpm for added utility. Two V8 engine options are also available: a 5.3L with 355 hp and a 6.2L with 420 hp. Accelerating with heavy cargo in the bed has never been this effortless.

2. Cargo and towing

The powerful engines above mean the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 is capable of some impressive numbers. Depending on the engine, cab, bed, and other options, the Sierra 1500 has a maximum estimated towing capacity between 8,900 and 13,000 lbs, when properly equipped.

For that big number, look for either the 3.0L diesel or 6.2L V8 — both options can tow an estimated 13,000 lbs paired with 2WD when properly equipped.
That’s enough pulling power for a large speed boat, cabin cruiser, or a fifth-wheel camper.

3. Passenger comfort

GMC claims the crew cab Sierra 1500 has impressive headroom and leg room, with just over 43 inches and 44.5 inches, respectively. Your 6’5” friend won’t have to scrunch down when riding with you. Denali Ultimate trim adds upscale appeal thanks to real wood and soft leather surfaces, and the heated 12-way power seats even offer an available massage feature. Your passengers won’t want to get out of your Sierra 1500.

4. High-tech features

With over 40 diagonal inches of screens in the Sierra 1500, you’ll have all the info and selectable features you need at your fingertips. Out back, the available six-function MultiPro tailgate can adapt to your cargo needs, making it easier to load or enter the cargo bed. The available trailer camera provides 14 views of your cargo, a great feature that ensures everything stays safe when backing. The available Super Cruise lets you travel hands-free on 400,000 miles of highway. No matter the length of your trip, you can arrive fresh and ready to work.

5. Multiple trim levels

Find your exact ideal truck by searching for the trim level with the content you want. Sierra 1500 Pro starts off the base model, with steel wheels and black exterior trim, it’s a work truck available with 2DW or 4WD. The SLE gets heated seats and a 13.4-inch touchscreen. The Elevation trim upgrades the suspension, and wheels, alongside additional storage. The SLT delivers luxury and power features, while the AT4 adds off-road touches. Look for the Denali if you want heated rear seats and wireless charging. The AT4X upgrades to locking differentials and a two-inch lift for extra off-road ability while the Denali Ultimate has 22-inch wheels, a 12-speaker Bose® sound system, power sunroof, and much more.
