If you’re looking for a large SUV with plenty of space, the 2024 Chevrolet Suburban is a good choice. It remains unchanged for 2024 and is part of the 12th generation, which was introduced in 2021. As a full-sized SUV, it gives you plenty of room for passengers and their things across three rows.
With seating across three rows, everyone has space to stretch out. In the front, you’ll get 44.5 inches of legroom with 42 inches in the second row. While the third row is most suited to kids, there’s still 36.7 inches of legroom, which is enough for adults. Getting in and out is easy, thanks to the wide door openings, which also make it a cinch to get kids buckled into car seats.
If you’re looking for something practical that can handle weekend duties such as hauling a camper or towing the boat to the lake, the 2024 Suburban 1500 is one to look at. The standard 5.3L V8 engine allows it to tow an estimated 8,300 lbs when properly equipped.
When piloting such a large vehicle, it’s always nice to have driver-assist features to give you that extra confidence behind the wheel. As standard, you’ll get forward collision mitigation, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and parking sensors. This makes driving on the highway and in the city much easier but if that’s not enough, look out for the available blind spot warning (Premier trim and up) and surround-view camera system (High Country trim).
The 2024 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 has an independent rear suspension that smooths out bumps in the road with ease, making it more comfortable than the previous solid rear axle models. If you want an even smoother ride with great handling, look for the optional magnetically controlled shock absorbers that can be found on the Premier trim or above. Add to this the wealth of passenger comforts (such as standard tri-zone climate control and the LT trim’s heated front seats) and you’ve got a full-size SUV everyone will want to ride in.
The 2024 Chevrolet Suburban is a three-row SUV that comes standard with an eight-seat layout but there are seven- and nine-seat configurations to keep an eye out for. No matter how many passengers you regularly carry, you’ll be pleased by the adaptability of the cabin. Behind the third row, there’s a very practical 41.5 cu-ft of cargo space, which opens up to 93.8 cu-ft with the back seats folded. Need to carry an appliance or furniture haul? Fold both rear rows for a whopping 144.7 cu-ft of cargo space.
