Second generation Genesis G80
For its second generation, Genesis elevates the G80’s luxury pedigree with upgraded styling, improved interior material quality, and an impressive list of premium features and advanced technology. Engine choices include a turbocharged four-cylinder and a V6, with an eight-speed automatic transmission sending power to either the rear or all four wheels.
A 14.5-inch central touchscreen, controlled through a circular knob in the center console, was replaced in 2025 by a 27-inch widescreen display connecting the gauge cluster and the touchscreen. Standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ benefit from wireless connectivity in 2025, and the 21-speaker Lexicon audio system sounds as good as the second-generation G80 looks.

First generation Genesis G80
The G80 was based on the prior Hyundai Genesis sedan, but the company spun Genesis off as a separate brand to emphasize the luxury nature of these cars. The first-generation G80 was available with a 3.8-liter V6 or a 5.0-liter V8 engine, paired with an automatic transmission with rear-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive when equipped with the V6.
Standard advanced features for the G80 included 18-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights with automatic high-beam control, a rearview camera, adaptive cruise control, and keyless ignition and entry. From the beginning, the Genesis G80 has offered a long list of advanced driver-assistance features, including blind-spot monitoring, lane departure control, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking.
Inside you’ll find heated leather front seats and available heated rear seats. Dashboard tech features include an eight-inch touchscreen interface, navigation, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, and a premium audio system.
