The Lincoln Corsair is a five-passenger luxury crossover SUV and resides at the entry point to the Lincoln lineup now that the luxury brand no longer sells sedans. An all-new model in 2020 when it replaced the MKC, the Corsair comes into the 2022 model year with minimal changes. Lincoln offers the Corsair in three trim levels ranging from Standard to the top-level Grand Touring, the latter of which gets a powerful plug-in hybrid engine and full-time all-wheel drive. It may be a compact SUV, but the Corsair is still a Lincoln. Exterior styling fits with the rest of the lineup with the recognizable signature grille. The interior has a luxurious style that distinguishes it from competitors like the Acura RDX, Volvo XC60, and BMW X3. The cabin is quiet with comfortable seats, but rear passengers may find the headroom somewhat lacking. Overall, the Corsair is a fitting entry into Lincoln’s line of luxury SUVs.
Comfort: With upscale materials and available Active Noise Control, the cabin of the Corsair is quiet and comfortable, with the feeling of luxury expected of a Lincoln. Features like the dual-zone climate control with adjustable fan speed add to the pleasant experience. The Corsair provides a comfortable ride with the available adaptive suspension, and engine noise is practically nonexistent.
Technology: The Corsair brings plenty of convenient technology to its passengers, adding to the luxury of this compact crossover. Multiple USB ports are available for keeping devices charging, as well as a wireless phone charger and a standard 110-volt power outlet. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration is standard. The available 14-speaker Revel audio system sounds great, outperforming many competing systems.
Value: With a low starting price, the base-level Corsair brings a long list of standard features, making it an excellent value and undercutting the competition by thousands of dollars. While the top-level Grand Touring, with its more powerful hybrid engine, does creep up in price, the Corsair remains competitive in the crowded luxury crossover market.
Storage: The cargo area is of a reasonable size, and its 27.6 cubic feet of space is average among the competition. But the built-in cargo cover is hinged at the rear, making loading difficult. There are numerous storage pockets in the cabin, but they tend to be on the small side, limiting their usefulness.
