The Genesis G90 is the luxury brand's flagship full-size sedan. For 2023, the G90 enters its second generation, with a complete redesign that adds even more style and substance to this premium sedan. It’s available in two trim levels, the G90 3.5T AWD and G90 3.5T E-Supercharger AWD. Each features a turbocharged V6 engine that sends power to all four wheels via a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. As its name suggests, the upmarket version includes a turbo and supercharger for added speed and performance.
Befitting its status as the brand’s premiere luxury sedan, the cabin of the G90 has pillowy-soft seating and acres of space in the first and second rows. Opulent extras include power-reclining rear seats with a massage function, along with an air suspension. While it doesn’t have the dynamic prowess of some direct rivals, such as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series, there are few vehicles that effortlessly move down the road like the G90.
Exterior and interior design: With its update this model year, the styling philosophy of the G90 is evolution rather than revolution. That’s fine by us because this is a sleek and handsome sedan, and its cabin is filled with quality trim that’s on par with what you find in elegant rivals from Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz.
Standard features: The G90 is packed with just about everything you'd want on a large luxury sedan. Heated and ventilated front seats, Nappa leather upholstery, massaging front seats, power rear sunshades, power soft-close doors, tri-zone climate control, and a Bang & Olufsen audio system are all standard.
Plenty of driver assists: Genesis also saw to equip the G90 with a wide array of driver aids such as automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane keeping assistance, safe-exit assist, automatic high-beam headlights, Highway Driving Assist, a head-up instrument display, and a surround-view parking camera.
Wired smartphone connectivity: Ironically, given all that’s included in the G90, you’ll still need to pack phone charging cables. Wireless device charging might be standard, but wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ isn’t offered in this posh sedan. It’s a strange tech oversight given the G90’s status.
