The 2022 Genesis G90 is a value-conscious luxury sedan, available in two trims with names that correspond to what you're getting under the hood. The 3.3T Premium equips the G90 with a 3.3-liter V6 engine and a whole suite of driver-aid features, while the 5.0 Ultimate upgrades the luxury sedan to a 5.0-liter V8 and adds bonus features like rear-seat entertainment, ventilated rear seats, and power rear sunshades.
Both trims have turbocharged engines with rear-wheel drive and use an eight-speed automatic transmission. The G90 features adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assistance, blind-spot warning, and Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, yet it starts at a lower price than competitors like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series.
The S-Class and 7 Series offer more elegance than the G90 and are a bit more fun to drive. But the Genesis is a fully loaded luxury car and a great value.
Value: The G90 comes loaded with an incredible amount of standard features, including driver aids like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assistance, blind-spot warning, and a 360-degree camera. That's equipment you won't find on higher-priced competitors and it makes the Genesis an incredible value.
Comfort: The G90's suspension smooths out all but the roughest terrain, and its leather interior adds plenty of comfort and cushioning for all four passengers. The Ultimate trim also adds power adjustability to the rear seats, allowing backseat passengers to adjust their seatback, bottom and lumbar support.
Interior: The vast interior delivers a true luxury experience for passengers. There's plenty of legroom and headroom for everyone in the outer seats. The controls are also easy to use thanks to a combination of touchscreen and analog knobs.
Fuel economy: The V6-powered all-wheel drive G90 gets an EPA-estimated 20 mpg combined, and 21 mpg for the rear-wheel drive version, which is a bit worse than the competition. Mercedes-Benz S550 4matic gets 24 mpg combined, and the BMW 740i xDrive gets 23 mpg combined.
